This is how you create a social campaign on Facebook /and Instagram directly from the platform.

1. Select New Campaign.

2. Choose Social campaign type.

3. Select the Objective for your campaign.
The campaign will be optimized for the objective you select. The optimization takes place on Facebook/Instagram and controls on which pages and to whom your ad is shown.

4. Select Next.

5. Schedule and Budget

Set the Start/End date of the campaign and the budget you want to spend:

6. Targeting

In this step you can define who will see your ad:

  • Locations (Geo-targeting).
    RequiredThis is required, this it will target your ads to people located in a specific geographic locations.

  • Demographics.
    Optional, you can select:

    • Age

    • Gender

  • Detailed targeting.
    Optional, you can reach specific audiences by their interests, activities, the pages they have liked, etc.

7. Select a Facebook Business Page.
The Business Page step defines which brand/business page your ad will be associated with when shown on Facebook/Instagram.
You can either select one of the predefined pages or connect a new brand/business page.

If you connect a new business page, after you checkout the campaign, the administrator of the business page will receive a notification from Facebook to allow the Business Manager to show your ads. If the page is already owned by the Business Manager, all is good to go.

8. Creatives

Creatives are your actual ads which will be shown to your audience.
You can + Add New Creative or skip this step and Add Creative later.

Note: for each objective the creative types you can select are slightly different:

  • Clicks
    Image, Video creatives

  • Likes
    Image, Video creatives (same as imagefor Clicks)

  • Video
    Video creatives

  • Reach
    Image, Video creatives

9. Checkout

Review all the information for your campaign and select Checkout to pay.

10. Creative approval

One Once your creative has been approved your ad will be shown on Facebook/Instagram.

Social campaigns on your dashboard

You will see all your social campaigns under Dashboard > Social.

The statistics for social campaigns are slightly different than display campaigns. In addition to Impressions, Clicks and CTR, you will see Objective and Actions.

Actions shows you the number of people who interacted with your ad. For each objective, this statistic is different, sometimes it's likes, sometimes it's video views, sometimes it's clicks.
